Summer Wedding at 1885 Farms in Navarre, Ohio

Hannah and Doug’s insanely gorgeous wildflower inspired wedding at 1885 Farms in Navarre, Ohio was honestly one of the most joyful projects I have ever worked on. From the get go, Hannah asked that we have color anywhere and everywhere possible and that is exactly what we did. It was so much fun working with clients who love color as much as I do and 1885 Farms was the perfect setting for this couple to begin their marriage!

A Flower Farm Wedding

This stunning wedding venue in Northeast Ohio is a family owned wildflower farm. The property is named after the gorgeous barn which was built in 1885. This stunning structure is shaped as an octagon and sits in such a way that guests have fantastic views of 50 sprawling acres and so many wildflowers. The Barn itself is an incredible venue that can hold up to 200 wedding guests. Rental of the space includes the reception space, your choice of 5 separate ceremony spaces, a lounge space perfect for cocktail hour, a loft that can be used for djs and photo booths, an outdoor gazebo and patio, as well as a bar, catering kitchen and four handicap accessible restrooms. This charming barn venue offers all of the romance without sacrificing any of the essential amenities!

In addition brides and grooms interested in this wildflower venue can create their own fresh flower bouquets and centerpieces using flowers from the property!

Colorful Wildflower Palette

In our first consultation Hannah shared the details on this perfect barn venue and I immediately searched for images of 1885 Farms. My mind was blown and my artist's heart could not wait to get started. As I began composing her design look book I pulled all the colors from the venue grounds and fields of wildflowers–shades of pinks, oranges, yellows, purples and blues, and lots of gorgeous green. I wanted the entire palette to reflect the feeling you get when you stumble upon a secret garden of beautiful flowers. I knew it would be important to find a way to delicately balance all of this color in a way that felt warm and inviting and my paint brush was itching to put that color on paper!

Colorful Wedding Stationery

Designing the stationery for this 1885 Farms Wedding was truly a delight. Anyone who knows me knows I am a big fan of color and this venue was made for it! Hannah and Doug’s wedding invitation featured custom, hand painted florals in all the shades found at 1885 Farms and really gave guests a clear idea of what they could expect upon arriving at the venue. I thought a fun playful arch cut for this piece was a way to add interest while not detracting from the watercolor illustrations. We decided to utilize a natural, grounded green color for the text throughout the wedding invitation suite.

Hannah’s detail card and rsvp card featured the same sweet wild flower paintings, but we placed them in a way that felt like you were out walking amongst the flower fields.

Two of my most favorite elements for this invitation suite were a gorgeous vellum wrap that incorporated all of those same beautiful florals, tied with a delicate piece of natural twine, and a venue painting of the Barn at 1885 Farms. As guests opened their envelopes, they were greeted with a gorgeous custom painting of the venue they would soon be visiting. A field of green and bright flowers, a bright blue sky and the super unique barn showed guests all the magic of a 1885 Farms wedding!

We kept all the color coming as we designed Hannah and Doug’s day of stationery. Signage for their desserts, menus for the farmhouse tables, and a beautiful mirrored seating chart kept the aesthetics cohesive.

Love for 1885 Farms Wedding Venue

After taking a peek at the photos from this gorgeous wedding venue, I truly can’t express how obsessed I am. This venue has so much potential for any type of gathering and it was the perfect place for Hannah and Doug to have their ceremony and reception. A beautiful summer day in Northeast Ohio and a beautiful couple celebrating the beginning of their life together–1885 Farms is an incredible place for any couple looking for a unique wedding venue!
