Orchid House Winery Wedding

Orchid House Winery Wedding Featuring Classic Black and White

Brooke and Jacob’s gorgeous black and white wedding at The Orchid House Winery in Aurora, Ohio was every bit as gorgeous as their classic black and white color palette.  The entire day was filled with stunning and elegant details that kept their love at the center of everyone’s mind and I was so thrilled to assist in designing their beautiful wedding invitations.

Classic Black and White Wedding Colors

While I always love a bright, colorful wedding, the Orchid House Winery absolutely lent itself to the incorporation of classic black and white.  The bright June wedding day meant that the entire property was filled with luscious green foliage which acted as a perfect summer ‘neutral’ and a fabulous background for the black, white and gold wedding day details.  There is no debating that black and white will always be a timeless color combination when it comes to weddings, and Brooke and Jacob pulled it off with a fresh, modern aesthetic.

Custom Wedding Invitations

As a watercolor artist and invitation designer I knew that utilizing minimal color could be a really unique way to make Brooke and Jacob’s invitations really one of a kind.  I kept the focus on black, white and gold, and really paid attention to the density of color in order to add depth, detail, and interest.  The invitation itself was a simple concept with gorgeous gold script font to feature their names and hand drawn corner elements to keep the text framed.  We chose to incorporate a script letter ‘M’ at the top of the invitation in honor of the McNeil name.

Classic Black and White Wedding Stationery

The back of their invitations might be one of my most recent favorites.  I knew I wanted guests to have a small piece of frame-able artwork to keep as a memento of the gorgeous event so we kept the artwork very neutral.  I placed a hand painted oval as a sort of border and then painted a few delicate black and white florals to allude to the overall natural beauty guests would find on wedding day.  The piece is perfect for a 5x7 frame and I love that guests will always have this little reminder of the Orchid House Winery!

We kept the details card simple and added in an attire card to share suggestions with guests for the black tie event.  The entire suite was wrapped in a gorgeous floral vellum wrap that featured the black florals and we wrapped a simple black silk ribbon around the invitations to keep everything in place.

Black and White Envelopes for the Win

Stunning black envelopes with white calligraphed addresses and a gold wax seal were the perfect mailing combination and I think they turned out so lovely!

Love for the Orchid House Winery

Looking at photographs from this beautiful day really drives home how stunning this venue is.  Spaces are indoor and outdoor events are plentiful and the entire property is filled with natural green beauty.  Brooke and Jacob used the outdoor pergola as a ceremony backdrop and some of the greenspace for a stunning tented reception.  This venue is the perfect blank palette for anyone who wants to use black, white, and gold as their wedding colors while also bringing in the natural beautiful greens we see in Ohio summer weddings.

I hope this gorgeous Ohio wedding inspires the continued use of classic color palettes for years to come!  If you’re ready to start work on your own custom wedding invites feel free to drop a bit of info below and I will get to work on designing your dream stationery!
